User roles and privleges

Dropbox has several built-in user roles to quickly assign permissions

Dropbox has eight built in admin roles with pre-defined permissions. Use these to quickly give user's specific admin privleges.

Team Admins

Team admins have full access with all permissions for the organization.

User Management Admins

These types of admins can manage users in the organization.

Support Admins

The Support admin roles can perform limited support tasks, such as resetting passwords.

Content Admins

A Content admin has full permissions over content and can adjust content permissions for indivdiual objects as well as across the organization.

Compliance Admins

Available with the Data Governance add-on, Compliance admins manage retention policies and legal holds.

Reporting Admins

Reporting Admins can create reports on team members and activity.

Security admins

The Security admin role can manage security risks, alerts, and external sharing.

Tiered admin roles

Available in Business Plus and higher, tiered admin roles allow for multiple admin roles with different permission settings. This allows specific users to have control over some settings while restricting them from having full access to the account.
