# Private Folders

### Folders

Folders (sometimes called "Private folders") inherit the permission of the parent folder by default. At the top level, they are shared with the creating user only, who has full control and can specify who to share the contents with.

If a private folder is shared with another user, it becomes a Shared folder. &#x20;
